Join the JHU Women in Business Affinity Group for the 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference: Fierce Women! at the Palomar Hotel in Washington, DC on Friday, April 1, 2016. The conference offers opportunities for professionals and students to grow their networks and develop personal and professional skills. During this day-long event, participants will learn how to thrive in both work and life through expert presentations and small group discussions. We will kick off our day with a powerful keynote, add “Food for Thought” through mini-sessions, and deliver takeaways and tips to empower and inspire long after the day ends. Help Make a Difference
As part of the WIB’s mission of supporting and empowering women, the Affinity will again be collecting professional clothing and accessories - especially accessories! Please consider donating new or gently used stylish professional clothing, belts, shoes, purses, etc. to assist disadvantaged women entering or re-entering the workforce. Perhaps that special touch you can provide will be the difference that creates a new hire. Please bring clean clothing on hangers if possible. All donations will be collected on site the day of the conference. Our Community Outreach volunteers will do the rest.
A partnership of the JHU WIB Community Outreach has been formed with My Sister's Circle. Through long-term mentoring relationships, My Sister’s Circle exposes at-risk girls to opportunities and experiences that empower them to define success for themselves, make intentional decisions about their future, and become self-sufficient young women. We will hear more about this amazing organization.
JHU Women in Business (WIB) Affinity
JHU WIB provides the women of Hopkins the opportunities necessary to advance their professional and personal development. WIB works to build a comprehensive network of women professionals at various career levels and industries by engaging Hopkins alumni, students and friends of the university. WIB’s activities are designed to build community, opportunity, resource sharing and personal advancement. Activities include regional networking events, lunch-and-learn seminars, one-to-one mentoring, group-wide meetings and other activities that support group objectives and member goals.
