Bus from hotel to Sprout Creek Farm for tour and cheese sampling
This working farm raises free-range cows, sheep, goats and wild turkeys, and houses a market that produces and sells internationally award-winning cheeses and farm-produced meats. Learn about the grass-based production process, the art and science of cheese making and the importance of the aging process.
11:30 am-2:00 pm
Bus to Millbrook Winery, "the Hudson Valley's flagship winery" (The New York Times), for picnic lunch and lecture by Jonathan Palevsky.
During an extensive tour of the winery and vineyards, learn about the growing, care and harvesting of grapes, as well as the wine making process. Enjoy a tasting of six wines and samplings of wine biscuits and olive oils.
