Women's soccer: Johns Hopkins advances to NCAA round of 16 for ninth time in 10 years

The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals for a 2-0 win against Wilkes on Sunday afternoon, propelling the Blue Jays to the NCAA Division III tournament round of 16 for the ninth time in the past 10 seasons.

Hopkins (17-2-3) got on the board in the 50th minute when junior Kyla Persky found the back of the net with a header off a corner kick. JHU doubled its cushion eight minutes later when senior Michelle Santangelo scored off a pass from Carly Lupton-Smith.
