Dave Gutelius, Founding Partner of The Data Guild

Dave Gutelius is a founding partner of The Data Guild, a product studio and incubator in Palo Alto, California.  A serial entrepreneur, David previously drove data science and technology innovation at Jive Software (JIVE) as Chief Social Scientist. There, he drove the creation of products that addressed key data-driven decision needs among Jive's global customer base.  He joined in 2011 after Jive purchased the his company, Proximal Labs, a startup that delivered large-scale machine learning to personalize enterprise social networks.  Prior to Proximal Labs, David was the co-founder and CTO at Social Kinetics, a large-scale data mining spin-out from SRI International, sold to RedBrick Health in 2010. At SRI's Artificial Intelligence Center, he was Product Manager for the largest machine learning project in the U.S. Government's history, DARPA's CALO Program (where Siri was created), working extensively with national security customers.  Dave's an active angel and seed investor, and serves on the Advisory Boards of Johns Hopkins University’s Individualized Health Initiative and GE Ventures.
