After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 2005 with her Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Krista took a job with Nordstrom in Charlotte, NC as their Café Manager. She excelled greatly during her time there and was offered a promotion. The only caveat was that the promotion was at a store in Naples, Florida. Wanting to remain in NC, she instead elected to take a job at a wine shop while she did some “soul searching”. Her love of wine quickly developed, and she has never looked back. She worked her way up to District Buyer for a major grocery store chain and oversaw Wine & Beer buying for 15 stores in North & South Carolina. Wanting to challenge herself again, she and her husband made the move to NYC 5 years ago. She began at Chelsea Wine Vault as a Sales Associate and now serves as the Corporate Sales & Events Manager. She has her Advanced Certification from the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust Foundation and is currently studying to become a Certified Specialist of Wine. In her spare time, when she is not teaching classes at Chelsea Wine Vault or drinking wine from Sicily or Jura, she is rehabilitating her 2 rescue pit bulls.
