Innovation Initiatives at Johns Hopkins University

About Innovation Initiatives

Innovation Initiatives is a collaboration between Alumni Relations and Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures. Our programs engage and support students, faculty, alumni, and other Johns Hopkins stakeholders in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. We cultivate a dynamic community that gives back and supports Hopkins entrepreneurs and innovators. Our goals are twofold:

  • To expand the innovation and entrepreneurship infrastructure on our campuses that serve student, faculty, alumni, and community-based entrepreneurs.
  • To support and promote connectivity in our growing innovation ecosystem that starts in Baltimore and spans the world.

We call on innovators, entrepreneurs, consultants, and investors to join the community!

Our Programs

Support student and faculty entrepreneurs

  • Mentor and speak to student entrepreneurs at FastForward U. Review applications and judge pitch competitions.

  • Review applications for translational funding. With a background in science and technology, you can help cultivate technologies that will change the world. Learn more about Hopkins startups at FastForward, our innovation hub.

For alumni entrepreneurs

  • Promote your company on MadebyHopkins, a directory for Johns Hopkins alumni founded and co-founded businesses. #madebyhopkins

  • Join the OneHop Alumni Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group to connect with one of the most powerful and diverse alumni networks; and stay informed with curated news and events.

  • It takes a village to build a company. Alumni founders of early-stage startups meet through our Founders’ Forum series to share advice and build peer networks. Take the Hopkins Founders’ Pledge to pay it forward to the next generation of Hopkins entrepreneurs.

For alumni leaders in industry

  • Hopkins alumni are innovating in companies big and small, from pharma and tech companies to venture capital firms. We bring industry leaders together through our Hopkins Innovation Roundtable series; and host receptions at conferences like the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) International Convention.

  • Think we should come to another conference? Let us know.
