Lar Lubovitch Dance Company: 45th Anniversary Season

The Lar Lubovitch Dance Company celebrates its 45th anniversary at The Joyce Theater, Join fellow Hopkins alumni for the Sunday matinee on October 13 at 2:00pm. The company's executive director, Dick Caples, SAIS '74, has made our select center orchestra seats available at a discount, but seats are extremely limited so please register early! In addition, attendees will be introduced to Lar Lubovitch and will have a chance to meet several of the company’s dancers.
This performance includes the world premiere of Vez, a re-imagining by the master choreographer Lar Lubovitch of his Fandango, “a choreographic sensation” (The New York Times), with a newly commissioned score by Randall Woolf for voice and flamenco guitar, performed live; the wildly popular Men’s Stories: A Concerto in Ruin, “a joyous, poignant expression of…nine terrific male dancers” (The New York Times), set to an original score by Scott Marshall; a revival of The Time Before The Time After, a “startling…and unpredictable” duet (The New York Times), set to Stravinsky; and the famous male duet from Concerto Six Twenty-Two set to Mozart’s clarinet concerto.
If you would like to join a group for brunch prior to the show, we have reserved a table at noon, Donatella NYC ,184 8th Avenue (between 19th & 20th Street) New York , NY 10011. Choose from their traditional brunch, Italian or brick oven pizza menus. The restaurant is within walking distance of the theater. Please note that brunch is not included in ticket price.
