The Hopkins Biotech Network (HBN Affinity) and Healthcare Affinity New York are proud to present a conversation with Dr. Drew Pardoll (A&S '77, Medicine '82), Director of the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy and Co-Director of the Cancer Immunology Program at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Pardoll will share the cutting edge research that is currently being done, as well as the impact that he hopes the work of the center will have upon the cancer landscape.

The new Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy will allow a “quantum leap” in immunology research, Drew Pardoll, the institute’s inaugural director, said during the launch event this past spring.

“We believe the focused and collaborative research made possible through the institute will advance immunotherapies to the point where the immune system will ultimately be able to beat 100 percent of cancers,” says Pardoll. “The potential to control or cure even the most advanced, treatment-resistant cancers has been elusive until now.” Research at the institute will focus particularly on skin, colon, pancreatic, urologic, lung, breast and ovarian cancers.
