Mr. Markel has been a long term entrepreneur with over 25 years investment and start-up experience across a multitude of industries. He has been a founder and investor in numerous ventures and has developed a keen eye for spotting market opportunities and executing effectively to fill the niche quickly and generate significant return for investors. Markel worked for several years at Morgan Stanley and during his career as a professional investor he has been a General Partner or Managing Member of over 35 private partnerships representing over 500 accredited limited partners.
He received a BA with honors from Loyola Marymount University, a MFA from New York University and is a 2017 Executive MBA candidate at the University of Southern California. He holds his Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 Securities Licenses and his California Real Estate Broker’s License. He resides in Toluca Lake, California with his wife Kathleen and their four children, Vivian, Jackson, Max and Stella.
Markel’s personal experience with his father and addiction, and the subsequent effects on his own family (as is the case with so many individuals and families affected by alcoholism or addiction) have been major driving forces in his professional path.
