Alison Lemon Biography

Alison Lemon, SPH 2001

Alison Lemon is a Health Communications Specialist at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Nursing Research where she focuses on digital and social media. Ms. Lemon previously spent 10 years at FDA’s Office of Women’s Health (OWH) where she created easy-to-read publications, videos, webpages and infographics about the safe use of medicines, devices and other products. She managed the consumer publications program through USA.gov, which distributed millions of fact sheets and brochures every year. Ms. Lemon also created and managed OWH’s social media presence including Twitter and Pinterest.  She has been an adjunct professor in both George Washington University’s Department of Exercise Science and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, where she served as a preceptor to students doing field placements at FDA. She holds a B.A. in Public Relations and Psychology from Syracuse University and an MHS in Health Education from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
