Getting Started

We're glad you're here

The Hopkins alumni community is your community. We're here to improve the Hopkins experience for all alumni, for a lifetime. Not sure how to get involved, or what to do first? We've got a guide to help you discover all the ways you can connect, engage, and celebrate – and how to find the right fit for you.

How can we reach you?

We can’t send you information about any of these opportunities unless we know how to reach you! Update your contact information to receive Hopkins news and event invitations. Remember, there's no need to sign up - just keep your contact information up to date and we'll send you emails about the events in your area. You can also see what's happening anytime on our Events Calendar.

So you want to...

Meet alumni where you live

Regional Communities are your gateway to connecting with your local Hopkins community. With 50 U.S. and international groups, you can build new friendships, enjoy social gatherings, explore professional opportunities, and give back through volunteer events—all close to home.

If you're a Homewood undergraduate alum who graduated fewer than 10 years ago, consider joining a Young Alumni Community. Based in seven cities across the United States, Young Alumni Communities create community through customized programming, volunteer opportunities, and social events.

Find alumni who share your interests

Shared Interest Communities offer a meaningful way to connect with fellow alumni around shared identities and passions—regardless of class year, school, or location. From groups like Women of Hopkins to 8:32 Society, there’s a vibrant community waiting for you. All members of the Johns Hopkins community are welcomed to participate.

Mentor a current student or connect with alums

Alumni can make a big difference in the careers of fellow alumni, students, and recent grads by offering mentoring, advice, and job leads. Be sure to join OneHop, Johns Hopkins' online mentoring and networking platform and to update your profile often so people know they can reach you for help.

Meet Our Alumni

Lionel Foster

A&S '02

Lionel Foster jumped at the chance to share his knowledge and experience with students from his alma mater. After all, mentors had guided him along each rung of his career, enabling him to transition from positions in communications to law school and, later, to his current role as an investor with a venture capital firm. "So many people have helped me. I was taught to pay it forward."
