From Montreal to New England

with Professor Eliot Cohen

Discovering Historic Towns & Scenic Waterways

September 30 - October 12, 2013

Setting forth from Montreal, the 138-guest Yorktown first visits the idyllic city of Quebec. Sail up the St. Lawrence River and continue to the Gaspé Peninsula, where Jacques Cartier staked out Canada for France. Savor the historic and natural attractions of Prince Edward Island, including Charlottetown’s old seaport; Prince House, birthplace of the Canadian Confederation; and Prince Edward Island National Park, site of the literature-steeped Anne of Green Gables House. Explore the well-preserved towns and pristine countryside of Nova Scotia, including historic Halifax and Sherbrooke, a living portrait of what Nova Scotian life was like over a century ago. This remarkable passage culminates with calls along Maine’s inviting shores whose highlights include Bar Harbor, the natural splendor of Acadia National Park, and inviting Boothbay Harbor before we end in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
