Well worth the wait: Colorful celebration kicks off the holiday season at Homewood

The holiday season hasn't officially begun at Johns Hopkins University until the traditional Lighting of the Quads, which took place Monday night after twice being postponed last week. The colorful celebration brought together hundreds of students, faculty, and staff for winter fun and cheer.

Festivities this year included an iceless skate rink, a title-less art installation by alumni Nate Towles (featured at Light City Baltimore last year), stilt walkers, a performance by the Johns Hopkins Entertainers Club, a student DJ, and a fireworks show. Students enjoyed kettle corn, gingerbread cookies, donuts, and hot chocolate.
