How to Access Handshake as an Alum

As a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, you have established what will continue to be a long and meaningful journey with the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association. Connecting alumni from all nine divisions, the Alumni Association is at your side—helping you along the path to career success through valuable alumni networking events, programs, and web-based tools at every stage of your Johns Hopkins alumni journey.

Now, Johns Hopkins University is introducing you to one more way to stay connected and get ahead:

Meet Handshake.

Handshake is a powerful career services platform that connects job posters and job seekers at all career stages. Offered across all nine academic divisions of Johns Hopkins, Handshake is a one-stop-shop career tool, allowing job seekers to create an online profile and access openings posted by approved employers—a group that numbers 50,000 across all industries—and sorted for their particular interests and experience.

For job seekers looking for that first position, a career detour, or the perfect fit after completing an advanced degree, Handshake is the place.

For job posters, Handshake allows alumni employers to recruit students and fellow alumni for positions within their own companies.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Go to https://jhu.joinhandshake.com
  2. Click on “Sign up for an account” in the blue box on the left hand side of the screen  
  3. Select the type of account as “Student/Alumni”
  4. Complete the required fields
