Johns Hopkins in Action: Someone Cares Soup Kitchen

Hopkins Orange County
Join us in partnering with Someone Cares Soup Kitchen! Established in 1986, Someone Cares Soup Kitchen serves nutritional meals to the underserved population of Orange County, with over 300 guests per day, 7 days per week. We will assist in the kitchen and dining room, cooking, preparing, or serving to welcome guests. Make an impact in our community and help prepare a healthy meal for our neighbors.
Volunteers will need to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to our start time to complete necessary paperwork (sign-in sheets outside of administrative office). Dress code includes wearing closed-toed shoes, no tank tops and no shorts. Hair will need to be pulled back if it is close to the shoulder.
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by assisting either in the kitchen or in the dining room. Assigned work may involve cooking, preparing, serving, and other tasks as needed to help make the guests feel welcomed and comfortable.
