There is always a need for enthusiastic Johns Hopkins alumni willing to donate their time and talent for the betterment of the University, and there are several programs where you can actively contribute.
Host-a-Student Program
The Host-a-Student Program is designed to welcome incoming Johns Hopkins students to the Baltimore community and ease their adjustment to a new environment. The program—which depends on alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Johns Hopkins—is managed by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Baltimore Alumni Chapter's Host-a-Student Committee.

Hosting a student provides opportunities for both the host family and student to meet and develop long-lasting and meaningful friendships. Participation by alumni and students is voluntary and getting involved is easy!

Host-a-Student Send-off Party
Each summer, send-off parties for incoming Johns Hopkins students are hosted by alumni in over 25 U.S. cities. It's a great way to welcome new students to the Johns Hopkins community and bring together alumni. Whether it's a backyard cook out, a party on the beach, or a pool party, the send-off parties are always a lot of fun and strengthen the inter-generational bonds of the Johns Hopkins family. If you want to host a send-off party, call the Alumni Relations Office at 410-516-0363 or e-mail alumni@jhu.edu.
Help with a Reunion Committee
If you would like to help plan reunion events for your class, you can join your class committee. Call the Homewood Alumni Relations Office at 410-516-5185 or e-mail us at reunion@jhu.edu.

Alumni Council Nominations
The Alumni Council is a 150-member governing body of the Alumni Association. It meets once a year to establish policy, reacquaint members with the university and its programs, and advise the university on alumni affairs. Members, who must be nominated, serve three-year terms, renewable once. They must be dues-paying members of the Alumni Association and annually support the development efforts of the university. For more information, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 800-JHU-JHU1 (800-548-5481) or 410-516-0363 (in Baltimore and outside the U.S.), or e-mail alumni@jhu.edu.
Admissions
The National Alumni Schools Committee (NASC) is the volunteer group that assists the Undergraduate Office of Admissions in recruiting top students by conducting interviews and representing Johns Hopkins at college fairs. Founded at Johns Hopkins in the early 1960s, NASC provides an opportunity for its more than 1,000 members to make a real difference for their alma mater. For more information, contact Amy Brokl at 410-516-4882 or e-mail amy.brokl@jhu.edu. More...
