Sandra Gray, A&S '76
Executive Director of Alumni Relations
May 9, 2007
Sandra Gray, the new Executive Director of Alumni Relations, knows what it means to be a Johns Hopkins alum.
She graduated in 1976 from the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, a member of one of the first classes to admit women. Her husband earned his bachelor's degree from the school in 1974, and a daughter is a 2005 graduate.
"As a graduate of Johns Hopkins, the spouse of an alumnus, and the parent of a recent graduate, the mission and future of the Alumni Association has personal as well as professional importance to me," says Gray, who was appointed to the position on May 1, 2007.
For nine years, Gray has served in the university's Office of Alumni Relations. In various positions, she restructured the Regional Chapter Program, assisted in forming stronger relationships and professional teamwork among development counterparts, strengthened alumni giving and international chapter leadership, enhanced student programs and services, and formed a close bond with the Alumni Council. Before joining the Alumni Relations office, Gray held a variety of positions at Johns Hopkins in the office Student Financial Services and the division of Development and Alumni Relations.
She lives outside of Baltimore. She is married to Jeffrey Gray, and the couple has three children: Jennifer, 27, Emily May, 23, and Jeffrey, 21.
